Mrs. LeFebvre, Mrs. Warnke and Mrs. Wroge's classes will all go to Orchestra Hall on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, to attend a Kinder Kozert. Kinder Konzerts is a unique program designed for 4 and 5 year old preschool students and kindergarten aged children that combines music education with literacy development. Each program consists of two sections: the first half of the program children sit on the stage with an ensamble of Minnesota Orchestra musicians. Musicians introduce their instruments and give examples of common musical concepts. A story is then narrated to a composition the musicians perform. (This year's featured story is the Paul Galdone version of Goldilocks. The music was commissioned by FRIENDS of the Minnesota Orchestra specifically for this story and was composed by Daniel Dorff.) For the second half of the program children participate in a sound factory where they continue to explore musical concepts and try instruments like a violin and snare drum. Please follow these links for more information and permission forms. We look forward to a great field trip!
Bring your smiles and your Picture Day Forms for picture day! Our Monday/Friday classes and Mrs. Wroge's Monday-Thursday class will take their pictures on Monday, October 19, 2015. All other classes will take their pictures on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Lost your picture form? Don't worry -- we have extras in the office.
Join us at our Fall Open House and Family Concert on Tuesday, October 13, 2015! Every year, Normandale Preschool invites family and friends to visit our preschool. Come and show your family and friends your classroom from 6:00 to 6:45 pm. Later, head down to the Fellowship Hall for a time of refreshments and to hear Jack Pearson, Musician and Storyteller, in concert. Bring a blanket to sit on and enjoy this fun time together as a family. Don't forget to walk around and see the new look of Normandale Lutheran Church! We can't wait to see you!
Normandale Preschool will be affected as Normandale Lutheran Church continues their improvements to the church building. We expect to be impacted until November, as Normandale Lutheran Church replaces and upgrades the elevator, and remodels the Center for Healing and Wholeness and other spaces on the second floor.
During construction, our usual Preschool Entrance will be unavailable, and we are asking preschool families to enter the building using the south entrance by the playground. Members of our Advisory Council will direct you to the south entrance during the first week of school. We will also have eye catching signage and balloons to attract your attention to the south entrances. Parking is available in both the upper east and lower west parking lots with doors to access the preschool on both sides of the building. After you enter, walk down the 9 steps, directly into the preschool hallway.
You will be unable to access Blessing Place from Normandale Preschool as there is a temporary wall and locked door between the foyer and Blessing Place. However, it is a quick walk or drive over to the main church entrance to get to Blessing Place.
Remember, this is just temporary. If you believe that you will need assistance in entering the building, please call or email email@example.com 952-977-9371
For more information about the construction project, please visit Normandale Lutheran Church's All Together In One Place page.

Construction is coming to Normandale Lutheran Church, but the show must go on! Because Normandale Lutheran Church's renovation project begins soon, we have changed the date of our famous Circus to Thursday, April 16, 2015. Please change your calendars to reflect this change, and read more about about the changes at Normandale in our March Newsletter.
Normandale Preschool has earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) -- the nation's leading organization of early childhood professionals. We're proud to have earned the mark of quality from NAEYC, and to be recognized for our commitment to the highest professional standards. NAEYC Accreditation lets families in our community know that children in our high-quality program have teachers who create engaging classrooms, enhance relationships with their parents and families, and develop rich experiences for their students.
On February 12, 2015, Normandale Preschool will see Goodnight Moon: The Musical at Stages Theater in Hopkins. Based on the classic about the little bunny who wants to put off going to sleep for as long as possible, Margaret Wise Brown's classic story has entertained four generations of little ones. The pictures on the wall, the toys in their box, and the moon itself all become characters in this magical production!
Our students will enjoy a lively theatrical reading of children's stories by a group of talented seniors from the Richfield Community Center. The Read-A-Story Theater actors create a theater of the imagination filled with expression and enthusiasm as they dramatize children's stories!

This fall, Normandale Preschool opened its doors to students for the 40th year. To celebrate this milestone in our history, we invited the community to join us for an Open House and Family Concert. We sang and danced to the music of Mister Jim and enjoyed the company of individuals from within the community who have over the years supported our school. Former preschool staff and committee members were invited to a luncheon and program at Interlachen Country Club where we honored those who had gone before us in establishing Normandale Preschool. A plaque was presented to Mr. Lee Johnson, dedicating the Ornamental Pear Tree on our playground in memory of his wife, Arloine Johnson, the first director of our school. We thank Normandale Lutheran Church for their support and look forward to serving families for many years to come.stmas Chapel and Carol Service.
